If the river didn't offer so many attractions, it would be just perfect for a picnic! As it is, tucked
away at the end of a valley, the Clarée truly lives up to its name as a high-altitude river. The effort
of the journey to its upper reaches is rewarded when you finally take to the water and glide
through prairies resplendent in contrasting light and shade, catching glimpses of high peaks
through forests of larch. Quite simply, It is impossible not to fall in love with this tiny Alpine
paradise! While soaking up the views, keep your
eye out on the river, where the branches of trees dangle menacingly in the river's cool water. The
more technical upper course guarantees thrills and spills for the more adventurous, and even if
water levels are low, why not try your hand at catching a trout or two!
